Choose a deployment

DVARA is an AI governance platform with two distributions. Choose Open Source for a standalone LLM governance runtime. Choose Enterprise for centralized management, fleet operations, or governed MCP and A2A traffic.

Choose the distribution

Open SourceEnterprise
TrafficModel callsModel calls, MCP tool calls and A2A hops, with or without a licence
Managementgateway.yaml, read at startupDVARA Flightdeck and centralized configuration
StorageNo database; optional local tamper-evident audit filePostgreSQL for Flightdeck only; from 1.8.2 each Gateway has no database, just a local spool
Choose it whenYou want a small, self-managed LLM governance runtimeYou need shared administration, persistent records, advanced LLM controls, or a Gateway fleet

Open Source is Apache-2.0 licensed and needs no licence key, database, or Flightdeck. It applies configured policy, PII and guardrail checks, provider routing, per-instance rate limits, and optional local audit recording to model traffic. Restart the Gateway after changing gateway.yaml.

Enterprise starts with the DVARA Gateway, Flightdeck, and PostgreSQL. Flightdeck manages workspaces and configuration and is the only process that connects to PostgreSQL. Gateways enforce controls on the request path, receive configuration from Flightdeck as a signed bundle, and ship their operational records to Flightdeck through a local spool.

Development or Production

The Enterprise platform runs without a key in Development for evaluation and non-production use. Its LLM governance capabilities are available in this posture.

Without a licence the Enterprise platform is for non-production use and is limited to 3 workspaces and 100,000 governed calls a month. A valid licence removes those limits and grants Production rights and support. Add it on Flightdeck's License page; no restart is needed.

See Capability availability for the full distribution and licence boundary.

The Open Source distribution is self-managed. The Enterprise platform supports both operating models.
